Raise your hand if you don’t love a charcuterie board.
Sure, maybe you aren’t crazy about Genoa salami. Perhaps Syrah-soaked Toscano cheese is not your thing. It’s okay. Tucked over there is prosciutto. Try that goat cheese. Nibble on some almonds, grapes, or olives. Spread some fig jam on that cracked pepper cracker.
The wooden platter is full of surprises just waiting to be discovered. I’ll save the olives for you.
Just give me a slice of hard cheese with some honey and soppressata, and we have a party. Eat only what you like, or be brave and discover a new marriage of flavors. Maybe you aren’t crazy about salami, but paired with the right cheese–well, it’s like your neighbor Terry. He’s not your favorite, but when he’s with his wife Nancy, he’s not bad.
A variety of tastes, spices, and textures work together to provide sustenance and pleasure, and perhaps even spur conversation.
That’s exactly what you’ll find here. Not meats and cheeses and figs, but fiction and non-fiction, essays and short stories, fantasy and history. You’ll find words from authors who have been writing for decades and those who just decided to pick up a pen (or open a new document on their laptop). There will be posts from published authors and musings from those still dreaming about a contract.
It’s a charcuterie board of Catholic writing.
We’re all Catholic, and we all love to write. That’s the wooden board on which we sit together.
After that, we are all as varied as what you find on the board: different stages of life, personalities, occupations, backgrounds, and hobbies. Our writing reflects that.
We hope you enjoy it. Read what you like, or be brave and discover something new
